Moonbeam – Sterling Silver Earrings
Crescent Moon & Star Design – A Tribute to Matriarchs

This piece is called Moonbeam, created to honour two of the most powerful women in my life. The crescent moon represents my mother, Half Moon Woman — a legendary birch bark biting artist whose strength, teachings, and artistry continue to guide me. The star honours my sister, Morning Star.

Among the Cree and many Turtle Island Nations, the moon is more than a celestial body — it is a sacred protector and guardian of the Earth, often referred to as Grandmother Moon. She watches over the waters, governs the tides, and helps us keep time through her cycles — from one new moon to the next. The stars were trusted for navigation, both physically and spiritually. The morning star in particular is seen as a sign of courage, purity of spirit, and the arrival of a new day.

The design was hand-carved and cast in .925 sterling silver using the lost wax casting method. Each earring measures ⅜ inch in size and is fitted with heavy-gauge sterling silver ear hooks to ensure durability and comfort. The back of each earring is inscribed with the title “Moonbeam”, alongside my artist signature and 925 hallmark, making each pair a true work of wearable storytelling.

These earrings are a tribute to the feminine spirit, the wisdom of the moon, and the love that carries us forward across generations.
