Under the guidance of Jamie Bartle of Headwaters Canoes, participants will learn how to re-canvas a wood-and-canvas canoe and perform basic structural repairs, such as replacing a rib or repairing damaged planking.
This immersive, hands-on clinic covers every stage of the restoration process, from preparation and assessment to re-canvasing, filling, and finishing. Participants will gain a deeper understanding of canoe construction and restoration techniques, as well as insights into the care and upkeep of a wood-and-canvas canoe.
Those interested may bring their own canoe for a thorough analysis and diagnosis, and will leave with the knowledge and practical experience needed to restore their own canoe at home.
Please note: Participants will not be working on their own canoes during the clinic. You do not need to bring a canoe to participate in this clinic. This class is specifically for the repair of wood-and-canvas canoes. If you are unsure whether your canoe is built in this method, please contact us!
